The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program is a permanent immigration program designed by the province of Saskatchewan that works under the agreement of federal government.

This program provides an easier means to enter into Canada since the province of Saskatchewan nominate applicants for the Federal government for permanent residency status.

One of the nation’s fastest-growing economies and populations is found in Saskatchewan, partly as a result of the influx of immigrants from all over the world.

The province of Saskatchewan created the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, a permanent immigration scheme that operates with the support of the federal government.

Since the province of Saskatchewan nominates applicants for permanent residency status with the federal government, this scheme offers a simpler way to join Canada.

The following categories of applications are accepted by the SINP:

1.international category of skilled workers

2.Category of Saskatchewan Experience

3.Farm and Entrepreneur Category

There may be one or more subcategories within each of these categories. To assist you decide if the SINP is the appropriate choice for you, we have included further details on each of these categories below.

The SINP accepts applications under the following categories:

  • International Skilled Worker Category
  • Saskatchewan Experience Category
  • Entrepreneur and Farm Category

Each these categories may have one or more sub-categories. Below we provide you with additional information about each of these categories to help you determine if the SINP is right for you.

International Skilled Worker Category

This category accepts applications from skilled workers who plan to live and work in the Province of Saskatchewan. Applicants are measured based on a points system and can be nominated under one of three sub-categories.

International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer : This sub-category is for skilled workers with a skilled job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. To learn more about eligibility requirements for the Employment Offer sub-category.

International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand : This sub-category is for highly skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan, who do not yet have a job offer in the province.

International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry : This sub-category enables the province to nominate individuals who are already in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry pool and have skilled work experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan.

What is SINP:

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program skilled worker category is for skilled workers who want to live and work in Saskatchewan.

This category enables the SINP to nominate individuals that have educational qualification, experience, language and adaptability to establish in the province of Saskatchewan.

SINP Process

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program for skilled workers is a two-step immigration process.

Step 1: Application to the SINP office

  • The SINP will review your application.
  • If approved, the SINP will send a nomination to the applicant.

Step 2: Apply to CIC intake office with SINP nomination

  • CIC will review your application.
  • CIC will perform health and character verification’s.
Eligibility

An applicant should score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the point assessment grid if he or she is a skilled worker to be considered for nomination.

An applicant is awarded points on the basis of following criteria:

  • Work experience in a skilled occupation
  • Language proficiency
  • Age
  • Your Intended occupation must be with Demand List.

You can qualify to apply under SINP International Skilled Workers category if:

  • You live outside Canada legally or you have legal proof of living status in Canada.
  • You have scored a minimum of 60 points out of hundred in the points assessment grid.
  • You have at least one year of work experience in past ten years in the desired profession.
  • You have got a minimum language score of CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) 4.

Saskatchewan Experience Category

This category is for foreign workers that are currently living in Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Experience Category accepts applications under the following sub-categories:

Existing Work Permit : This sub-category is for individuals who have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months under a valid work permit.

Health Professionals :This sub-category is for individuals who have worked as a physician, a nurse, or in another health profession in Saskatchewan for at least six months.

Hospitality Sector Project : This sub-category is for individuals that are currently working in Saskatchewan as food and beverage servers, food counter attendants, kitchen helpers, or housekeeping and cleaning staff for at least six months. The employer must receive approval from the Province of Saskatchewan before the applicant begins work in Canada.

Long Haul Truck Driver Project : This sub-category is for individuals who are currently working for an approved trucking firm in Saskatchewan. Drivers must be working in Saskatchewan for their current employer for a minimum of six months before applying.

Students : This sub-category is for students who have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada. Among the requirements, the student must have worked in Saskatchewan for at least twenty-four months before applying, or for six months if the institution is in Saskatchewan.

Entrepreneur and Farm Category

This category is for individuals who wish to own and actively operate a business or farming operation in Saskatchewan.

Entrepreneur Sub-Category : This sub-category is for individuals who wish to invest management talent and capital in Saskatchewan by establishing, acquiring, or partnering in a business the province. Candidates are expected to take on an active management role in the business. This sub-category functions on an Expression of Interest model.

Farm Owners and Operators Sub-Category : This sub-category is for experienced farmers with considerable capital looking to invest in a farming operation and settle in the province of Saskatchewan, and a genuine.

If you’re coming to Saskatchewan for work, whether it is through provincial or federal immigration programs either for a temporary visit or permanently, you’re protected by The Foreign Worker Recruitment and Immigration Services Act (FWRISA).

The Act protects foreign nationals who are working, looking for work or in the immigration process in Saskatchewan, including:

  • foreign workers;
  • students;
  • visitors;
  • applicants for permanent residency; and
  • self-employed foreign nationals

To be eligible for nomination you must meet the criteria of the SINP and provide all of the required documents listed below. Please note that the application fee, if applicable to the category you are applying, is non-refundable.

The International Skilled Worker (ISW) category is for skilled workers living abroad who want to work and live in Saskatchewan. There are three sub-categories that international skilled workers may apply for under the SINP.

1. International Skilled Worker: Employment Offer

This sub-category is for skilled workers who:

  • Have a job offer for a skilled occupation in Saskatchewan;
  • Who are living abroad or in Canada; and
  • Meet the criteria of the sub-category.
